Notably, she refrains from employing sharp joint manipulations in her treatments.

Dr Sandra Nixon

Sandra is the associate practitioner at More Pathways with completed bachelor’s and master’s degrees in medical science and osteopathic medicine. She has a particular interest in women’s health – from pregnancy to post-partum, alongside supporting patients through peri and menopausal changes. She has completed further study in both internal and external pelvic release to best support patients with pelvic pain, incontinence, prolapse and associated conditions.

She enjoys practicing a holistic approach to patient care using a variety of osteopathic techniques depending on individual patient needs. Focusing on the cause and not just the symptoms, this approach continues outside of the treatment room as she educates her patients in ongoing management and prevention of recurrences of their condition.

Her treatment style suits all ages and includes a variety of hands-on techniques such as soft-tissue release, joint mobilization, gentle osteopathic techniques including craniosacral and visceral treatment, along with lifestyle advice. She also has a passion for exercise and healthy living and has obtained a Certificate 3 and 4 in Personal Training as well as multiple mat and equipment Pilates certifications.

Sandra endeavours to offer each patient a thorough and integrative approach to their treatment, considering the whole person in her management approach. She regularly works alongside GPs, naturopaths and specialists to facilitate an individualised care plan.

Outside of clinic, she is an academic staff member at Southern Cross University, lecturing future Osteopaths. She also enjoys golf (it’s a love/hate relationship), spending time at the beach and losing herself in a good book.
